Isabelle de Melo with Mauritian, French, and German roots holds Swiss and Mauritian Passports. After graduating from HEC Paris in 1986, she started her career as an auditor with Arthur Andersen in Paris where she rose to manager focusing on audits, consulting, mergers and acquisition and privatization engagements in diverse sectors including industrial manufacturing, equipment, wholesale, consumer goods, publishing, and insurance.
She then joined a fast-growing high technology multinational in the field of smart cards – Gemplus, based in France where she held the CFO position until 1998. In 2003 she joined an aviation Group PrivatAir headquartered in Switzerland as CFO and added Human Resources to her responsibilities. After 2009 she joined a Geneva-based family office as COO, then held that role for the Servette Sports’ team group and a Real Estate Foundation.
Since 2010 she is an active angel investor in early-stage start-ups via Go Beyond Investing and Swiss Health Angels and has co-founded an initiative to develop angel investing out of Mauritius, Mo Angels.
She is also involved in coaching emerging entrepreneurs. An independent non-executive Director for IBL Ltd since 2019 she is also a Non-Executive Director of AfrAsia Bank Ltd and an INED for Five 35Ventures, a gender lense fund focusing on women founders.
A Fellow of MIOD Mauritius Institute of Directors and she completed her Postgraduate Certificate and Diploma in Corporate Governance in 2021 and 2022 with MIOD and Open University of Mauritius.
