Nirusha Keerpaul-Toocaram is the founder and director of CAMEX DPO Consulting Ltd, a firm specializing solely in data protection consultancy and training.

She advises clients on data protection laws and regulations. Over the last 11 years, she has acquired substantial expertise and experience as a legal and compliance professional in Mauritius and Luxemburg. Currently, she is the only privacy expert in Mauritius who has received the esteemed designation of “Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP)” by the International Association of Privacy Professionals.

Nirusha is a seasoned data protection trainer and webinar facilitator. She regularly participates in high-profile conferences and specialized panel discussions, including the Data Protection Africa Summit in 2018 and the Data Protection Office’s conference in 2020.

Nirusha is the winner of the first edition of the Lottotech Seeds Award 2020 whereby her project of privacy legal tech was considered as the most innovative and sustainable project in this age of digital disruption. She was also a finalist for Women in Africa 54 Programme 2021 and a regional finalist for Global Startup Awards – Eastern Africa 2021 in the categories “Best Newcomer” and “Founder of the Year”.
