Neiman Marcus group names new chief legal officer

Neiman Marcus Group has appointed Hannah Kim to join the company as a chief legal officer, corporate secretary, chief compliance officer and a member of its executive team effective July 26.

In her new role, she will oversee legal and compliance for NMG and will be tasked with promoting and protecting the department store company’s overall business strategy.

Kim was most recently a chief legal officer at battery manufacturer Energizer Holdings, Inc., where she was responsible for legal, compliance, ethics, regulatory and government affairs.

Neiman Marcus said Kim also brings significant experience leading environmental, social, and governance as the company prepares to announce its three-year ESG strategy later this year.

Kim’s hiring follows several recent key strategic hires for Dallas-based NMG, including luxury fashion veteran Lisa Aiken as senior vice president and fashion and lifestyle director in June.

In January, the company announced plans to invest $85 million in supply chain innovation and technology in an effort to become “the preeminent luxury customer platform,” and in June bought Seattle-based tech startup Stylyze.

In April, the company announced a partnership with luxury reseller Fashionphile.

Prior to her three years at Energizer, Kim served in senior roles at Bank of America and Lowe’s Companies, Inc. She started her law career at Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein and Alston & Bird and earned her bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctor from the University of Tennessee.

She is also a member of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity.
