Winnie Khattar joins the Global Advisory Board of WIFIN

We are thrilled to bits to announce the confirmation of Winnie Khattar’s appointment as a Global Advisory Board Member of this prestigious network. She comes on board as a unique professional leader with distinct experiential qualities.

 

WIFIN is a non-profit organization designed to accelerate the career progression of women in the finance & investment management industry. WIFIN creates an exclusive platform that spearheads discussions revolving around diversity and inclusion, redefining women’s value & involvement at the table, empowering young female professionals to aim for the top by paying the due price for its worth and ultimately changing the narrative of underrepresentation of women in the finance landscape.

 

The network also capitalizes on the vital role networking plays in one’s career trajectory by helping members create long-lasting relationships that breed trust and could seamlessly translate into business partnerships.

 

Winnie Khattar is Head of Market Structure for ETF & Index Investing (EII) Markets & Investments in APAC at BlackRock. In her role, Winnie is responsible for providing thought-leadership and content on local ETF market structure and developing the ETF industry in the region, by discussing with regional regulators, exchanges and market participants, advocating industry standards for ETFs and driving sustainable policy reform. Winnie works closely with BlackRock’s businesses across Global Public Policy Group, iShares and Index Investments, Fixed Income and Trading Liquidity & Lending to ascertain the full impact of any structural change and guide unified opinion.

 

She also engages with asset management associations and regulators on cross-border trading, marketing and distribution of local ETFs in the region. Winnie is also deeply involved in BlackRock’s local ETF range product quality and secondary trading.

 

Outside of BlackRock, Winnie is one of 30 fellows at Atlantic Council’s Millennium Leadership Program 2021. Winnie is co-chair for FIX Exchanges and Regulatory Committee for Asia and also co-chairs mentorship for Women in Finance Asia (WiFA). Winnie was awarded Trailblazer Award by Markets Media Women in Finance Asia in 2020. Prior to BlackRock, Winnie worked at BofA Securities, where she conceptualized and launched BofA’s Market Structure offering in Asia and spent 10-years at Deutsche Bank in Mumbai, London and Hong Kong prior to that.

 

Winnie graduated in 2007 with a Physics degree from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University, India. Winnie is a passionate positive person, who enjoys outdoors, trail running, gardening and community initiatives both inside and outside work.

 

Winnie Khattar has with much excitement promised to be a springboard to catapult WIFIN in its pursuit of the bigger picture and living out its core mandate. She has however urged WIFIN’s front liners to avoid at all cost the temptation to settle for mediocrity or lay in bed with complacency.
